what will I do & learn during this 3 hour online ‘GEt proud of your website again’ workshop?
This online workshop is a really practical and strategic workshop for both new and (very!) established creatives, who want to get inspired again to create and promote an attractive, easy-to- use website for their creative business and ultimately to get more online sales for your creative products, art, commissions and creative services.
This is a get into action online workshop – you won’t just be listening for 3 hours but you will be creating an action plan and will start to review and rewrite some of your pages too – showing your uniqueness and using better keywords! You will review your own website, and start to identify your ideal clients. You will mostly be working by yourself on your website, and communicate with Anne-Marie and other participants of the workshop via our chat.
This 3-hour online workshop consists of 2 parts (with a short break in between):
PART ONE: MAKE YOUR WEBSITE WELCOMING FOR YOUR IDEAL CLIENTS
- Is your website at the heart of your creative business? Your website should be the place where your potential and existing clients will see you and your work at its best. We will start with identifying what the purpose of your website is: To sell, to showcase, to educate, …?
- Who are your ideal website visitors? Do you want to attract high end clients for your unique art works or commissions, participants for your craft workshops, or sell affordable gifts? Or trade clients like interior designers or gallery owners? And what do your ideal clients expect from you and your website, your online offer, your branding and information? You will start to identify who you want to attract and how to improve your website.
- You need to make it as easy as possible for your ideal clients to browse, get informed and ultimately to buy from you. Is it easy for visitors to navigate your website? Does your website flow? Is it easy for them to get to where they (and you!) want them to go? We will show you great creative examples. Have you got the right structure &web pages?
- Is it easy to find your website for new visitors? We will give you an introduction to SEO (Search Engine Optimatisation) and keywords – how to identify the best keywords for you, and how to use them in your categories and product pages. Are your product and service descriptions informative, ‘planting seeds of ideas’ on what they can do with your products and services? Do you highlight seasonal products or services? We will show you great examples of product & services pages from other creative businesses, and you will do a short writing exercise to identify and use these keywords for a page on your own website.
- Are your images selling your products and services? Why are images important? Why are image descriptions and Alt text important? Are your images good enough? Are you proud of them? What about your product page images? Are you using seasonal imagery? Are you selling a feeling?
PART TWO: HOW TO TURN INTEREST INTO ACTUAL ONLINE SALES
- We’ll start with our marketing mantra: “People only buy from people they know, like & trust”: Is our website building profile, credibility & trust with your dream clients? What about your home page, ‘about me’ page or contact page? Are you using case studies, reviews, testimonials and user generated content to build confidence in your business? Do you make it easy to stay in touch? We will share loads of creative ideas and you will continue to add your ideas to your own website-improvement action plan during this workshop!
- Anne-Marie will share her expert tips to get online sales – what really works to turn visitors into buyers?
- We will finish this workshop by finishing your action plan: What to focus on? What are the key activities and your deadlines? And how to make more time in your diary for your website?

By the end of this workshop you will …
- Have loads of practical & strategic marketing ideas and inspiration that you can use immediately and at no or very little cost, to create a better website – for your ideal clients, and you! Get proud of your website again!
- Have reviewed your website, rewritten a product or project page, and created an action plan to improve your website – both strategically, practically and aesthetically. So, you know exactly what to do and when, and to encourage you to make time to continue to improve your website.
- Focus your website on what’s special about you & your work (your niche), and who your ideal clients are, and how to make your website more attractive and useful for them especially.
- Find out how to turn interest from visitors into actual online sales. What works to get online sales? And what are the 4 stages of the online buying journey?

I can’t make it live on the day of the workshop (Tues 10 June). Is that a problem?
We recommend that you join this ‘Get Proud of your Website Again’ workshop live if at all possible, so that you can work in real time on your website ideas and plan actions, and connect with Anne-Marie and other creatives.
We know from experience that those who join live will be more likely to create a plan and take action.
However, if you have other commitments or you live in a different time zone, then remember that this workshop will be recorded and posted on our private workshop hub. You will get access to the recording + presentation + hub for 6 months until Wednesday 10 December 2025.
PLEASE NOTE: It’s unlikely that we will run this workshop again in 2025, so even if you are not entirely ready to work on your website right now then we recommend that you book this workshop, and you can watch & implement your website improvements later in the year when you are ready.
How much time will this workshop take?
This online workshop is 3 hours long. But we will pack a lot in in that time!
Obviously, the real work starts after the workshop finishes … to take action and to implement your website plan and actions.
How much time that will take depends on your experience in this area, how much you feel needs changing, and your resources.
We recommend that you create a 3-months plan to implement the changes, and aim to work on your website 2-4 hours every week.
What if I am not very tech-savvy?
We use Zoom for our online workshops – an online platform that’s very easy to access, and many people are familiar with already.
A week before your workshop starts we will email you the details of how to sign up for this ‘Get Proud of Your Website Again’ workshop.
At the start of the session we will tell you briefly how to use Zoom and the chat.
Our private online platform (where we will post the presentation + recording afterwards) is really easy to use too. You’ll only need basic computer literacy in order to navigate it.
To make the changes to your website and how long that might take often depends on your website software. We recommend Squarespace as that is super easy to update for most creatives and is very flexible. We do not recommend WordPress as that is very complicated.
Depending on your software and existing design, branding, writing & photography skills we recommend that you might want to work with other creative freelancers to implement those parts of your website.Â
I want to join with a friend, colleague or employee. Can I share?
When you sign up for a The Design Trust online workshop you purchase a single license, which means that YOU CAN NOT share the recording or presentation with others who have not paid for it.
Like you, we are a small creative business, and this online workshop is full of my copyrighted material and expertise that I have developed over the last 25 years.
If you share with others who haven’t paid then you basically are stealing. We know you wouldn’t like it either if others would do the same to you. So THANK YOU for not sharing with others.
If we find out that you share illegally then we will have to remove you from the workshop hub immediately and might ban you from any future workshops and courses too.
However, if you work in a partnership or in a small team then you can share the recording with people who work for you.
If you are in any doubt then email us on info@thedesigntrust.co.uk with any of your questions.
Until when can I book this workshop? And how long do I have access to this workshop?
We highly recommend that you try to join this workshop live on the day (Tuesday 10 June from 10am – 1pm UK time).
PLEASE SIGN UP AT LEAST 2 WORKING DAYS BEFORE to avoid stress for you and us! And so that we can make sure you have time to sign up and all the admin is in order.
However, you can still sign up for the workshop recording till Friday 18 July when we will close our shop.
After that date you will not be able to purchase, but all existing students will have access to the private hub with the workshop presentation + recording for 6 months until Wednesday 10 December 2025.
What if I need to cancel?
The workshop will take place on Tuesday 10 June from 10am – 1pm UK and we will record the session and give you access to the recording and the presentation for 6 months until Wednesday 10 December 2025.
After this online workshop has taken place we will NOT offer any refunds as you can still access it whenever you like.
If you need to cancel then please email us at least 48 hours before the workshop has started on info@thedesigntrust.co.uk and you can get a full refund. Unfortunately it takes 5 – 10 working days for the money to be in your bank account.
We recommend that you check that your broadband and WIFI is sufficient to join the session live. We have not had any problems ever with anybody watching the recordings.
If you have upgraded to get a 121 website review with Anne-Marie then you cannot cancel or get a refund after the session on 10 June. Anne-Marie will get in touch with you soon after the live session to book a slot in June, July or August. Once your session has been booked we are not able to move this, unless in exceptional circumstances.
I have another question …
